Contagious Disease Alert!

All Goat & Sheep Farmers may note that the State of Kerala (Especially the districts of Meenambalam, Karumbalur, Kulathur, Pampuram, Ezhippuram, Paripally, Chavarkodu, Puthiyapalam and Chirakara) are highly prone to PPR spread amongst the animals.

Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), a highly contagious viral disease also known as sheep and goat plague. Affected animals develop mouth ulcers, nasal discharge, cough, and diarrhoea and usually die within a week from pneumonia.

Those who are buying Goats/Sheep from Kerala may use high caution.
